bonaire horseback riding

Just got to the beach!
In Bonaire, Mommy and I signed up to do a three and a half hour horse ride to a beach.  That morning, Daddy dropped us off at the dinghy dock to meet the man from the horse ranch.  When I got out of the car I saw a flea-bitten gray, and two bays.  They are Peruvian Paso Fino horses.  The gray’s name was Macho, the small bay was Lucera, and I can’t remember the other bay’s name.  Neither can Mommy.  The instructor/guide named Simone rode Macho, I rode Lucera, and Mommy rode the other bay.  Lucera is such a sweet and patient horse and pretty too, with big brown eyes.  She follows Mommy’s horse around everywhere she goes!

The landscape was dry and covered in cacti.  We saw some very cute feral donkeys (there are a lot on Bonaire and they are protected) and some goats.  We saw a ton of flamingos and most of them were bright pink except for a baby, which was a light grayish-whitish color.  The baby was gray because it hadn’t eaten enough shrimp to turn pink yet.  It was very hot.

When we got to the beach, we tied the horses in the shade and had a snack.  Simone fed Macho crackers and he loved it. Simone untacked Macho because he was the only horse to swim and when he did it looked like he was smiling.  It was very hard to stay on when Macho was swimming.  He loved to roll in the water at the beach when we weren’t riding him.  After swimming Simone tacked up Macho and we rode back to the horse ranch.  When we got back we sprayed the horses and turned them out.  Macho rolled around in the dust and turned himself into a paint.  I had a great day but I was really sore afterwards.

In school I wrote a fiction book about a dolphin. It is called

Sophia’s New Friend.
Here it is:
Picture
page 1
One day a kind silver dolphin named Sophia went swimming alone in the ocean.

Just then a huge Greenland shark came out of
nowhere and lunged at her and she was very
                                                                          scared.
Picture
page 3
Suddenly a big beluga whale came and
scared it off.

Sophia was very grateful and asked what is your                                                                                       Name?” He answered “Uggy.”  “And I’m Sophia,"  she said.

And that’s how they became best friends.
